At Pneumatic and Hydraulic Company, we design, build and service custom automation and testing equipment helping customers increase productivity and profits. The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact, greeting and directing visitors, answering phone calls, handling mail, maintaining office supplies and supporting the executive team. This is a full‑time entry‑level administrative position located in Broussard, LA.
Job Responsibilities- Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately.
- Answer or refer guest inquiries.
- Direct visitors by maintaining employee and department directories and giving instructions.
- Notify company personnel of visitor arrival.
- Answer incoming calls promptly and handle callers’ inquiries.
- Redirect calls as appropriate and take adequate messages when required.
- Receive and relay faxes and copies from the copy & fax machine/printer.
- Maintain security by following procedures and monitoring visitor log.
- Pick up mail each day and distribute accurately; put outgoing mail out each day.
- Maintain the general filing system and file all correspondence.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of authorized office supplies.
- Maintain telecommunications system by following manufacturer instructions for house phone and console operation.
- Maintain a safe and clean reception area per procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Complete any special clerical or administrative projects as instructed.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
