Job Summary

If you are a Design Engineer professional looking for an exciting opportunity, Ideal Steel in Broussard, Louisiana, has a phenomenal opportunity for you! This role is responsible for providing accurate and complete designs in a timely manner while following standard company practices and procedures. This position is also responsible for final design and making sure all codes and loads have been evaluated.

This is a sales support position, helping our sales/detailing departments within commercial, heavy industrial, conventional and hybrid projects.

Requirements As a Design Engineer, You Will:

Required Education, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• 3 years of experience with commercial manufacturing design.
• Must have PE.
• Professional effective listening and communication skills.
• Regular and predictable attendance required.
• Proficient in clearly and efficiently deciphering documents and information received.
• Ability to read and understand architectural and structural drawings.
• Legal work authorization in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
• Position is onsite.

• MBS – Metal Building Software estimating program.
