Position SummaryThe NDT Level II UTSW Technician performs ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), liquid penetrant testing (PT), visual testing (VT), and other nondestructive testing (NDT) methods to inspect offshore and onshore piping, pressure vessels, and equipment. This role ensures compliance with company policies, client requirements, and safety standards. The technician also provides guidance and oversight to trainees and Level I personnel.
Responsibilities include performing UTSW inspections in various environments, inspecting piping, pipelines, pressure vessels, and mechanical components at client sites, industrial facilities, and offshore platforms. Travel to remote locations, including extended offshore stays, may be required.
Duties And Responsibilities- Perform NDT inspections (UT, MT, PT, VT) on offshore and onshore piping, pressure vessels, and equipment.
- Analyze and interpret testing results to identify defects or anomalies.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
- Operate and maintain NDT equipment.
- Mentor and support trainees and Level I personnel.
- Communicate findings effectively.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ASME, AWS).
- Assist with job planning and equipment setup.
- Perform UT Shear Wave inspections primarily in the field.
- Complete all necessary paperwork.
- Support training activities.
- Work in harsh environments and travel as needed.
- Minimum two (2) years of documented UT Shear Wave Level II experience.
- Certification or certifiable to ASNT-TC-1A, API-RP-2X, and related standards.
- Experience with ultrasonic thickness measurements in various environments.
- Knowledge of other NDT methods and inspection technologies.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with NDT tools.
- Ability to work offshore and onshore, including extended remote stays.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Possession of or ability to obtain TWIC, Passport, Safe Gulf & HUET Water Survival certifications.
- Valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or GED.

Working Conditions: Offshore work in various environments, including exposure to noise, humidity, fire, fumes, and physical demands. Must be able to lift heavy weights and perform physical activities as described.
Physical Requirements: Heavy work, including lifting up to 100 pounds, working in confined spaces, climbing, and repetitive movements.
