Job Duties- Under general supervision, repairs and performs maintenance on conventional tools, down‑hole tools and other equipment used in the application for down‑hole operations.
- Areas of specialization within Product Service Line (PSL) specific shop operations may include: mechanical aptitude, pressure testing, surface equipment, and down‑hole tools.
- Performs maintenance, inspects surface equipment, and performs repairs.
- Assembles and disassembles down‑hole tools.
- Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
- Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.
- Promotes and takes an active part in the quality improvement process.
- Skills are typically acquired through a high school diploma or similar education and 2‑3 years of experience as a Tool Technician II or equivalent tool technician experience.
- Ability and authorization to accept and reject pressure tests on assemblies.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
- Licensure to drive commercial equipment may be required.
- Given the nature of oil field service work, the ability to communicate effectively with others is necessary.
- The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required.
- Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
