Base pay range$70,000.00/yr - $/yr
Growing generator sales & service company seeks ambitious self starter to sell in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge territories.
Ideal applicant will have at least 5 years exp. in prospecting and cold-calling, effective negotiating and closing skills. Industry knowledge and prior sales background in the generator/ heavy equipment field required.
Job Functions- Sells company products and services by cold calling, servicing existing client accounts, and networking in our industry.
- Performs professional presentations or demonstrations of company product(s)/service(s) while on site
- Penetrates all targeted accounts and radiates sales from within client base
- Emphasizes product/service features and benefits, quotes prices, discusses credit terms, and prepares necessary sales reports
- Generates and develops new customer accounts to increase revenue, by cold calling if necessary
- Reaches business targets through effective management of designated territories and physical visits to customer sites
- Develops new customer accounts to increase revenue
- Builds and fosters a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth
- Continually maintains a professional company image
- Builds and maintains ongoing awareness of new products and services, competitor activities, and other research
- Overcomes objections of prospective customers
- Ensures follow up by passing leads on to Inside Sales persons with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, and so on
- Attends periodic classes, training, and workshops to enhance sales abilities
- Takes an active part of company trade shows and seminars
- Takes proper care of his or her vehicle to ensure reliability and project a professional image
- 5+ years of direct work experience in an external sales capacity
- Professional demeanor, selling style, and appearance
- Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, call control, account development, and time and territory management
- Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas
- Must possess Generator/ Heavy Equipment Sales background
- Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
- In-person presentational skills
- Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays
