Repair and Tool Technician

Overview

Repair and Tool Technician role at The Home Depot. The position focuses on evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. Technicians may work in stores with Tool Rental Centers or in repair centers. In-store technicians provide service to Tool Rental customers, including writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, verifying proper operation, and demonstrating proper use as needed.

In non-store locations, technicians ensure units are repaired, tested for quality, cleaned, and returned to the originating store. Technicians must have thorough knowledge of all tools and effectively manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.

• Evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices.
• Provide service to Tool Rental customers, including creating contracts and invoices for rentals and repairs.
• Ensure tools and equipment are operating properly and demonstrate proper use when needed.
• Maintain day-to-day operation and upkeep of equipment in the Tool Rental department.
• In non-store locations, repair, test, and clean units before returning them to the originating store.
• Possess thorough knowledge of tools and effectively manage tool inventory by maintenance and repair.

• Strong knowledge of tools and equipment used in repair and maintenance.
• Ability to evaluate, repair, test, and clean equipment to ensure quality before return.
• Experience with writing customer contracts and invoices is a plus.
