Job Description

Overview:
Assists with maintenance and repair activities on gas compression and/or process equipment at customer's location, as directed.

Essential Duties
  • Maintains a safe and well-organized work environment.
  • Works with others to perform Call Outs (CO), Preventative Maintenance (PM), Major Maintenance (MM), Overhauls and MOB/DEMOB.
  • Performs Call Outs with assistance from a technical expert. Learns to diagnose and repair mechanical problems on multiple compressor configurations.
  • Completes and submits required documentation in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

All employees shall be in compliance with the Archrock Health Safety and Environmental Policy and local, statutory and/or regulatory requirements at all times.

Skills And Abilities
  • Perform all essential duties.
  • Develop proficiency in order to perform quality, efficient work with less assistance.
  • Begin to demonstrate customer service skills.
  • Read, write and speak English (work orders, manuals, etc.)
  • Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Use basic computer skills, including Internet Explorer and Outlook.
  • Respond to after hours request regularly on an on call basis.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of or training in relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
  • General mechanical knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics.
Minimum Education And Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Gas or diesel engine and compressor school / training preferred.
Minimum Experience
  • Demonstrated mechanical experience.
Leadership
  • May serve as a resource to others with less experience.
Physical Demands
  • Fit for job tasks and meet medical requirements for PPE.
  • Display good manual dexterity, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
  • Sit while driving or using a PC; stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, twist.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; push and pull up to 110 pounds.
  • Carry at least 40 pounds with one hand for at least 10 feet.
  • Crawl, climb around equipment, stairs and vertical ladders.
  • Exercise vision abilities including close, distance, color vision, adjust focus.
  • Extensive travel; drive and work in inclement weather for extended periods.

  • Problems vary but can usually be identified easily.
  • Implement solutions within low complexity or with precedents.
  • Perform work using established examples / procedures as a guide.
  • Identify opportunities and provide ideas, methods and innovations to enhance teamwork, efficiency and quality.

  • Decisions impact operational and financial results on assigned equipment.
  • Customers complain quickly if trouble. Timeliness and errors can affect customer productivity.
  • Accountable for HSE, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
Freedom To ACT
  • Well-defined, written or verbal instructions or standardized procedures are available.
  • Follow and comply with company and department procedures, requests and standards.
  • Works under direct supervision during Short Service Employee period (1-6 months).
