Offshore Fire Technician

Total Safety is seeking an Offshore Fire Technician to join their safety-focused team. The technician will perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of lifesaving equipment, fire extinguishers, and suppression systems in an offshore oil and gas environment. The role involves minimal supervision, with training and certification support provided by Total Safety.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Promoting safety culture and complying with relevant regulations (NFPA, CFR, USCG, etc.).
• Assisting senior technicians in inspecting and repairing safety equipment.
• Completing safety analyses, work tickets, and inspection reports accurately and timely.
• Communicating effectively with customers and team members about services performed.
• Participating in safety training and meetings.
• Learning to operate safety equipment and read technical charts and plans.

Qualifications required:

• High school diploma or GED; electronics background or military training preferred.
• Offshore experience in oil and gas industry.
• PEC card with Safe Gulf endorsement, TWIC card, valid driver’s license, and reliable vehicle.
• Certifications in helicopter underwater escape and fire extinguisher inspection preferred or obtainable within 3 months.
• Willingness to travel offshore by helicopter or boat, and to wear PPE including respirators.
• Good computer skills, troubleshooting ability, and team orientation.

• Must follow safety and operational protocols, with opportunities for advancement (e.g., NICET certification).
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work in various environmental conditions.
• Position is full-time, entry-level, in the oil and gas industry.
