Immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Broussard, Louisiana.

Video/Welcome Techs
- Hourly Pay: $26.06 per hour
- Certification Bonus: up to $700 for each new ASE certification obtained
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
- Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, weekends off - Hours:
Second Shift 11:00 am – 7:30 pm

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification (post‑secondary degree or technical certifications) preferred
- Basic tools – required
- Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle records check, road test, or other customer background requirements.
Responsibilities- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections, and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer as applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint when assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support
