We’re seeking a detail‑driven Cost Accountant / Plant Accountant to support our manufacturing operations with accurate costing, inventory control, and financial insights. This role partners closely with production, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure our cost data is reliable and our plant performance is fully understood.
What You’ll Do- Maintain and analyze standard costs
, including updates and cost roll‑ups - Monitor material, labor, and overhead variances
; investigate and recommend corrective actions - Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical inventory audits
- Review and validate BOMs, routings, and manufacturing data
- Analyze manufacturing KPIs such as scrap, yield, and labor efficiency
- Prepare monthly cost reports, inventory summaries, and variance explanations
- Assist with month‑end close related to COGS, inventory, and manufacturing accruals
- Partner with plant leadership on cost drivers, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5+ years of cost accounting or plant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of standard costing
, inventory accounting, and COGS - Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement
- CPA or CMA (or progress toward certification)
