Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager will support our fast‑paced, diverse and new parts & accessories distribution operation in Brownsburg, Indiana. This role is a key member of the operations management team and reports to the Senior Human Resources Director of Global Supply Chain and Parts & Accessories business with a strong matrixed reporting relationship to the Site General Manager.
Broad generalist and leadership responsibilities include recruitment/retention, employee development, succession planning, employee relations, employee welfare, benefit administration, and both tactical and strategic HR duties.
Key Responsibilities- Coach and advise operations leaders with candor, honesty, respect and tact.
- Develop strong business relationships with all business functions you support.
- Implement and coordinate policies and programs covering recruitment, employee relations, welfare, development and organizational design.
- Maintain overall direction of recruitment, placement and training programs and ensure compliance with EEO regulations.
- Provide leadership to operations efforts in ensuring market competitiveness and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, engagement and accountability.
- Maintain and analyze key performance metrics to monitor workforce trends and employee relations climate; make recommendations and develop programs to improve engagement and operational efficiency.
- Leverage data analytics to make strategic and tactical decisions.
- Performance‑manage, lead and develop a small team.
- Maintain knowledge of employment and labor law; communicate with HR management and legal counsel as needed.
- Manage all HR activities for the operation ensuring alignment and consistency with broader business objectives.
- Participate in strategic planning with functional leaders to translate business priorities into HR priorities.
- Create and implement HR strategies in workforce planning, staffing, development, training, employee relations and overall talent management.
- Collaborate with the HR team within Mercury and across Brunswick to ensure consistency in communication, policies and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment with full HR generalist functions (e.g., Employee Relations, Employment Law, Compensation & Benefits, Training).
- Human Resources certification preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service, time‑management, interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to multi‑task, prioritize and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team.
- Strong decision‑making, judgment, organizational and creative problem‑solving skills.
- Strong business acumen.
- Ability to coach and advise senior leaders with candor, integrity and credibility.
- Influence skills to persuade others and gain acceptance of ideas or concepts.
- Action orientation with the ability to prioritize and follow through on commitments.
- Quantitative and analytical skills to analyze, communicate and interpret HR metrics.
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws and practices.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; experience with a Windows‑based HRIS system such as Workday preferred.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $84,500 to $136,100 USD annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on qualifications and business context. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
