Join to apply for the Industrial Maintenance Technician, Plastics Compounding role at Teknor Apex Company
Base pay range$22.00/hr - $35.00/hr
Keep a global manufacturer running—one fix at a time. Nearly a century ago, a small Rhode Island tire shop set the stage for today’s Teknor Apex—an international custom compo under with nine U.S. sites and facilities in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China. Still privately owned and led by the founder’s grandson, we pride ourselves on long‑standing relationships with our teams and customers.
As Jon Fain says, “Manufacturing is a team sport and we work together to achieve our goals.”
A day in this role:
You start your shift by reviewing safety procedures and the day’s work orders. Preventive maintenance comes first—inspecting conveyors and extruders, noting parts to fabricate, and organizing tools. A compressor alarm sends you across the floor to troubleshoot, test power safely with an electrical tester, and return the unit to service. After lunch, you install new process piping, thread screw pipe, and weld brackets you fabricated earlier.
You close out work orders with clear notes, tidy the shop, and plan tomorrow’s priorities.
