General FunctionThe Senior Quality Manager is responsible for leading the quality function to ensure products meet internal and customer standards. This role oversees the implementation of quality systems, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as the primary liaison between the company and its customers on quality‑related matters. The Quality Manager drives a culture of built‑in quality, operational excellence, and accountability across the organization.
ScopeOf Responsibilities
The Senior Quality Manager reports to the Plant Manager and has full responsibility for the site’s quality organization and systems. This role has a significant impact on customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and regularly interacts with global quality leadership, production, engineering, supply chain, and customers to ensure alignment of quality objectives.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality technicians to achieve department and plant goals.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for all direct reports.
- Coordinate daily quality operations, including incoming inspection, in‑process and final product verification.
- Implement and maintain built‑in quality systems to ensure quality is integrated into all stages of production.
- Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities to resolve product or process issues.
- Lead cross‑functional teams to drive improvements in product quality, process capability, and customer satisfaction.
- Interface directly with customers regarding quality concerns and product performance.
- Collaborate with the quality function of other sites to share best practices.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, control plans, and inspection standards.
- Own, monitor and analyze key quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Promote and exhibit all Company core values.
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate cross‑functional teams.
- Results‑oriented leader with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to handle concurrent problems and prioritize effectively.
- Strong experience with root cause analysis, problem‑solving, and corrective action methodologies (8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone).
- Demonstrated experience implementing built‑in quality systems and process control strategies (poka‑yoke, layered process audits, FMEA, control plans, SPC).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the company to customers professionally.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, squat, bend, twist and turn as needed to perform the job.
