Bechtel is partnering with Next Decade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth.

At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

The Startup Electrical Specialist will work as part of the onsite Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) Startup team under the direction of the Electrical Startup Lead to support the overall commissioning and startup process. The primary responsibility will be to perform the on-site testing and validation of the electrical systems associated with the project through the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup/initial operations phases.

Including the managing of craft personnel to perform the work. They are responsible for ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the project safety standards, the project quality standards, and the design/specifications; as well as performing general functions inherent to field position.

• Plan and execute electrical testing, as required to place the RGLNG facility into service.
• Supervise field manual craft as required to perform assigned tasks; monitor and control craft performance and be accountable for performance of the craft against the budget.
• Preparation of system testing and turnover documentation including scoped documents, test records, test procedures and other similar required documents.
• Supervise and direct subcontractor personnel as required to support commissioning activities (i.e.: fire protection commissioning, emissions testing, meter & relay testing, etc.). Plan work with the subcontractors and monitor it and control it in accordance with the terms of the contract to stay within the budget and schedule constraints. Report and document subcontractor work activities on a daily basis in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Prepare system pre-operational test procedures for assigned systems. Complete testing per Bechtel Corporate Standard Test and Commissioning Procedures (STCP) and Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPP), pre-op procedures and other specific procedures which may be required to be prepared in this position.
