Bechtel is partnering with Next Decade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel.
The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
Job SummaryIn this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development.
Major Responsibilities- Supervise all Superintendents and direct hire craft and administer project work rules.
- Supervise Subcontract Coordinators (SCs / STRs) coordinating subcontract activities.
- Establish and ensure compliance with project procedures necessary to perform construction in accordance with project technical requirements.
- Implement the project controls tools to assure that direct hire work performed is within budget and schedule.
- Set and meet cost and schedule targets.
- Forecast labor unit rates, field distributables, and construction equipment.
- Ensure the jobsite field work organization is comprised of qualified and knowledgeable personnel and ensure effective personnel utilization.
- Implement Project ES&H program.
- Assist in the coordination of engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Coordinate with Design on constructability issues.
Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge And Skills- Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation relating to field activities.
- Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy.
- Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisor’s ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the Bechtel Core Processes.
- Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
- Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.
- Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction is preferred.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
