Overview
The Surgical Technologist demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department.
Responsibilities- Maintain aseptic technique and set up the required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies for assigned cases.
- Scrub and pass instruments and equipment during surgical procedures.
- Pull cases as needed and break down cases at the end of the procedure.
- Set up operating room and supplies needed for the day or following day’s schedule.
- Be available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Required: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program.
- Preferred: Associate degree.
- Preferred: 1 year.
- Required: AHA BLS, Surgical Technologist certification.
