As a Registered Nurse, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models and acting as an advocate for patients and families.
Responsibilities- Assess patient condition at admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes in status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers and document care administration in the patient’s medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and respond appropriately to adverse reactions.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve them effectively.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Founded as Valley Community Hospital in 1975, Valley Regional Medical Center serves Brownsville, TX and surrounding communities. The 215+ bed facility houses over 200 physicians across 25+ specialties and is a designated Advanced Level III Trauma Center and Advanced Primary Stroke Center. Services include cardiac care, minimally invasive and open‑heart surgery, cath lab, advanced imaging, neonatal intensive care, and more.
