Job DescriptionThe Creative Director acts as an inspirational leader and visionary guide for TSTC’s creative teams. This role fosters innovation in visual storytelling, brand expression, and digital experiences, while ensuring that all creative output aligns with institutional goals and values. The position collaborates with stakeholders across the college to design integrated campaigns that elevate engagement and reinforce the TSTC brand.
This position also provides strategic oversight for sub-brands within TSTC—including Online College, Accelerated Training, Work Site, and the TSTC Foundation—ensuring consistency, reach, and alignment with the college’s mission of training a skilled workforce for Texas industries. The Creative Director shepherds multidisciplinary teams across photography, cinematography, and graphic design to produce compelling and impactful creative assets.
Essential Functions- Demonstrate TSTC’s Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.
- Inspire and guide creative strategies that elevate and uphold TSTC’s brand narrative and visual identity.
- Foster collaboration and partnerships across divisions to ensure cohesive brand strategies and unified messaging.
- Provide high‑level oversight for creative projects, ensuring that all deliverables reflect institutional excellence and integrity.
- Lead and mentor creative teams, cultivating a culture that attracts, develops, and retains top‑tier creative talent.
- Provide inspirational direction and set clear expectations for performance, innovation, and collaboration.
- Implement systems to manage workloads, timelines, and deliverables to ensure that priorities receive appropriate focus and resources.
- Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns that support organizational initiatives.
- Lead the evolution and stewardship of sub‑brands, ensuring that each maintains alignment with TSTC’s overall brand architecture while serving the unique needs of distinct audiences.
- Champion innovation in digital media, storytelling, and emerging technologies to enhance audience engagement.
- Establish performance metrics and tracking systems to evaluate creative effectiveness and drive continuous improvement, ensuring that creative strategies are data‑informed and scalable for institutional growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, Multimedia, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Eight (8) or more years of progressive creative leadership experience with demonstrated success in brand development and cross‑platform storytelling.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams, including photography, videography, and graphic design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in digital, print, video, and experiential work.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain collaborative, high‑performing team environments.
- Strategic and Creative Leadership – visionary leadership with the ability to articulate, implement, and sustain a creative strategy aligned with institutional goals, and manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on quality, consistency, and innovation.
- Collaboration and Communication – strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively across departments and leadership levels, and communicate clearly and persuasively to inspire confidence and alignment around creative initiatives.
- Brand and Data Expertise – advanced knowledge of brand management and sub‑brand development, utilizing data analytics and performance metrics to guide decision‑making and creative optimization.
