The medical center has recently opened a Surgery Center. This outpatient surgery center is a joint venture between the medical center and Abilene and Brownwood physicians. It will offer same-day surgery for specialties including otolaryngology (ENT), gastroenterology, orthopedics, podiatry, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, pain management and plastic surgery. Hendrick has hired two mid levels to practice in Brownwood. Their clinic is within walking distance of the medical center.
Hendricks's vision is to recruit primary care and subspecialties to support the Brownwood community.
