Travel: Yes, 25% of the time
Shift: Day Shift, Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities- Direct the design and implementation of pollution prevention plans or storm‑water plans for construction projects.
- Coordinate with area engineers on design and plan preparation.
- Monitor contract performance, evaluate deliverables, review billing documentation, oversee consultant compliance, and provide written performance evaluations.
- Negotiate fees, budgets, scopes of work, work schedules and other contract agreements.
- Oversee construction‑project traffic control plans and periodically review traffic control devices with Area Engineers.
- Prepare and submit Plans, Specifications and Estimates (P.S.&E.) on projects.
- Review material specifications and write special provisions.
- Review, monitor and develop complex layouts, sketches, plans, specifications, estimates, contracts, policies, procedures, guidelines, correspondence, reports, surveys, remediation plans, or documents.
- Act as project manager supervising consultants carrying out advanced and complex engineering work.
- Supervise professional and administrative staff.
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related science, degree accepted by TX PELS.
- Experience: 4 years in transportation engineering (full‑time or prorated part‑time). Graduate‑level education may be substituted one year per year.
- Supervisory
Experience:
One (1) year supervisory/managerial experience. Project‑leader or lead‑worker experience may substitute.
- Valid driver’s license. State vehicle driving required.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
* For Bridge Inspection:
Must complete training course based on Bridge Inspector’s Manual or NICET Level III/IV certification within 1 year of hire. - Other professionals: non‑licensed engineers in the US but not licensed in Texas must obtain a TX PE licence within 6 months of hire and sign agreement.
- Inside and outside environmental conditions.
- Substantial or light lifting (10–20 lbs). Standing, prolonged periods, repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Requires drug testing pre‑employment; subject to random drug testing. 49 CFR 40.151(e) does not allow medical marijuana as valid medical justification.
