Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse -Family Medicine Clinic-2371 Crockett

Licensed Vocational Nurse – Family Medicine Clinic (2371 Crockett)

Join Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in our Family Medicine Clinic. Provide professional nursing care under physician supervision and serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care for patients under supervision of physicians or APPs.
  • Assist physicians and staff in coordinating patient care.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education: Completion of a Vocational Nursing Program or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum

    Work Experience:

    One-year Licensed Vocational Nurse experience.
  • Required

    Licenses/Certifications:

    • Current state Vocational Nurse license.
    • Current CPR certificate.
  • Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology; familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions; understanding of documentation standards.
    • Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment; understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening.
    • Knowledge of infectious disease management and control and safety standards.
    • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality.
    • Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
    • Knowledge of management and organizational theory to supervise the business practices including principles of employee development to train, delegate, and mentor staff; knowledge of medications and other pharmacological agents used in a clinic setting.
    • Knowledge in diseases and disease processes.
    • Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques.
    • Skill in appropriate use of universal precautions, safe workplace, and confidentiality methods.
    • Skill in health information management by appropriately charting patient data.
    • Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.
    • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
    • Ability to appropriately interact with patients, families, staff, and others.
    • Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
    • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and direct the work of others.
    • Ability to communicate clearly.
