Licensed Vocational Nurse – Family Medicine Clinic (2371 Crockett)
Join Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in our Family Medicine Clinic. Provide professional nursing care under physician supervision and serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care for patients under supervision of physicians or APPs.
- Assist physicians and staff in coordinating patient care.
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
- Minimum Education: Completion of a Vocational Nursing Program or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum
Work Experience:
One-year Licensed Vocational Nurse experience. - Required
Licenses/Certifications:- Current state Vocational Nurse license.
- Current CPR certificate.
- Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology; familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions; understanding of documentation standards.
- Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment; understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening.
- Knowledge of infectious disease management and control and safety standards.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
- Knowledge of management and organizational theory to supervise the business practices including principles of employee development to train, delegate, and mentor staff; knowledge of medications and other pharmacological agents used in a clinic setting.
- Knowledge in diseases and disease processes.
- Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques.
- Skill in appropriate use of universal precautions, safe workplace, and confidentiality methods.
- Skill in health information management by appropriately charting patient data.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to appropriately interact with patients, families, staff, and others.
- Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and direct the work of others.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
