The Oaks Academy is a secure post-adjudication facility located in Brownwood, Texas, providing comprehensive services to young men (13-17) using a trauma-informed, strength-based, gender-responsive model. Through education, positive skill development, and individualized therapeutic interventions, we empower youth to reach their full potential. Pay: $25 per hour; potential increases based on education and experience.

What you will do: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a key role on The Oaks medical team, providing general healthcare to students within your scope of practice. Responsibilities include administering immunizations, assisting with TB screenings, flu vaccines, and overall health maintenance for students and staff. You will also help train staff on health topics such as injury prevention, blood borne pathogens, CPR, First Aid, and behavioral health issues.

Additionally, you will assist in ordering supplies, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; current LVN/LPN licensure in Texas; at least 21 years old; ability to pass criminal background, drug screening, physical, TB test, and child/adult abuse registry checks; valid driver’s license and meet driving eligibility requirements.

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule, every other weekend off.
