As a Registered Nurse at Pecan Bayou Nursing and Rehabilitation, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Your primary focus will be on providing direct patient care, managing complex medical and surgical cases, and ensuring optimal recovery and rehabilitation outcomes. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that address both physical and emotional needs.
Patient education and advocacy will be central to your role, empowering patients and their families to make informed health decisions. Ultimately, your expertise will contribute to enhancing patient safety, comfort, and overall well‑being within our healthcare community.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
- Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in medical/surgical or rehabilitation settings
- Strong knowledge of nursing care principles, patient safety standards, and infection control protocols
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and wound care management
- Certification in Pediatric Nursing or Nurse Practitioner credentials
- Previous experience working in a nursing and rehabilitation facility
- Additional certifications such as Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) or Patient Advocacy credentials
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care including assessment, monitoring, and documentation of patient conditions
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols and physician orders
- Perform wound care management and telemetry monitoring to detect and respond to changes in patient status
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care to promote recovery and prevent complications
- Advocate for patient needs and preferences while coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
- Support pediatric nursing needs and provide specialized care tailored to children when applicable
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
The required skills such as direct patient care, wound care, and telemetry are essential for daily monitoring and treatment of patients, ensuring timely interventions and accurate documentation. Patient education and advocacy skills enable the nurse to effectively communicate complex medical information, empowering patients and families to participate actively in care decisions. Medical and surgical nursing expertise supports the management of diverse clinical conditions, while pediatric nursing skills allow for specialized care of younger patients when needed.
