Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit position in Texas, requiring a TX or compact RN license and two years of recent Med/Surg experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit
- Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- 36 or 48 hours per week considered
- Altera charting experience preferred but not required
- Responsibilities include providing comprehensive care to Medical Surgical patients
- Modules required during orientation, typically lasting 6-8 hours
- Mandatory initial drug screen upon arrival is enforced, including for Marijuana and CBD
- Lab work must be completed promptly after job acceptance
- Orientation includes non-billable modules completed on site
- Return travelers must comply with facility return rules
- Assignment Start Date is flexible, with preferred dates noted
- Active TX or compact state RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a Medical Surgical setting required
- Completion of drug screen upon arrival is mandatory; positive results, including for Marijuana and CBD, will result in automatic cancellation
- Must provide certification verification
- Must submit 2 references from supervisors within the last 3 years of employment
- Clinicians must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of offer acceptance or have a completion plan in place
- Travel experience preferred
- Candidates must reside at least 150 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent staff must be gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
