Finance Manager

Overview

Finance Manager – West Lothian | Up to £50,000 | Study Support Available. Eden Scott's Accountancy & Finance division is recruiting for a Finance Manager on behalf of a growing business based in West Lothian. This role is suitable for a Part-Qualified, Qualified by Experience (QBE), or Qualified Accountant looking to take ownership of a broad finance function and develop towards a more senior position over time.

The successful candidate will initially oversee day-to-day finance activities, including transactional finance, payroll processing, and month-end activities, with a clear progression path towards managing accounts preparation and wider financial reporting.

• Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Managing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supervising transactional finance processes and ensuring financial accuracy
• Processing payroll and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
• Supporting month-end close activities, including journals and reconciliations
• Assisting with cash flow monitoring and reporting
• Identifying and implementing process improvements
• Liaising with stakeholders across the business
• Supporting the continued development of finance systems and controls
• Progressively taking on responsibility for management accounts preparation and financial reporting

• Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS), QBE, or fully qualified accountant status
• Previous experience within a hands-on finance role
• Strong understanding of transactional finance, payroll, and month-end processes
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confidence working independently and taking ownership of workloads
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
• A proactive approach and desire to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Ambition to grow into a broader financial reporting and management accounting role
