Job Purpose

The Depot Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of all depot deliveries, installations, and services. This role involves leading the Broxburn depot team to achieve Operational Excellence, drive commercial performance, and consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the depot team, creating a motivated, high-performing work environment and fostering team development.

* Oversee all depot operations including deliveries and customer service, ensuring adherence to Operational Excellence and company standards.

* Manage Profit & Loss performance, controlling costs within budget and ensuring profitable execution of all services and product deliveries.

* Ensure depot transport activities comply with legislative requirements and company operating license standards.

* Maintain and control depot assets and stock, completing regular stock takes and ensuring records are accurate in the company IT asset system.

* Plan and execute depot maintenance, security, and enhancement of facilities.

* Conduct regular safety inspections, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams, addressing any post-delivery or installation issues promptly.

* Drive continuous improvement across operations, processes, and customer service delivery.

Person Specification

* Proven experience managing a depot, branch, or similar operations, within the hire industry.

* Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and develop team members.

* Commercial awareness and experience managing P&L is desirable.

* Strong IT skills and a full, clean driving license.

* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
