Join our Team at the College of Coastal Georgia! Located on the southeast Atlantic coast in Brunswick, the College of Coastal Georgia is an undergraduate college in the University System of Georgia. The College provides an affordable and interactive education in the natural beauty and abundant sunshine of Georgia’s Golden Isles.
Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a centralized shipping and receiving facility, and is also responsible for the operation of a Central Stores stockroom providing a variety of standard office supplies and materials.
Responsibilities- Receives, verifies and records all supplier shipments to the College, and delivers them to appropriate campus departments
- Records asset tracking information for equipment as it is received per College procedures
- Manages central stores inventory database, maintains sales records, restocks items, and reconciles inventory monthly
- Ensures proper security of materials in warehouse and mailroom
- Operates a forklift, drives College vehicles on and off campus and runs errands as needed
- Manages incoming and outgoing USPS Mail, UPS and Fed Ex packages
- Operates postage meter machine for outgoing campus mail
- Serves as P-Card holder, places College P-Card orders in compliance with College, USG and State regulations, maintains appropriate records, and reconciles transactions monthly
- Performs related duties
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a current valid driver license with acceptable driving record and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report review possession for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to random drug testing
- Must successfully pass a credit check
- More than two years of related experience
- Ability to work long hours at manual tasks and to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work while intermittently standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
- Ability to work in an office or stockroom, in a variety of college buildings, and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather
- Ability to operate golf cart and/or company vehicle
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs
- Knowledge of store keeping and inventory management methods
- Knowledge of forklift and other warehouse equipment
- Knowledge of mail processing principles
- Knowledge of P-Card policies and procedures
- Knowledge of college policies and procedures
- Skill in decision making and problem solving
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
- Skill in oral and written communication
