Overview
Connection Services is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Technical Staffing Division for a contract to hire opportunity onsite in Brunswick, GA
. This is a contract to hire opportunity with benefits. We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support and enhance a complex, home‑grown network environment. This role requires deep hands‑on experience with Extreme Networks technologies and strong core networking fundamentals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a custom, non‑standardized infrastructure and collaborating closely with internal teams to maintain, secure, and optimize the network.
- Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Extreme Networks switching and routing
- Troubleshoot complex Layer 2/Layer 3 network issues in a home‑grown network environment
- Configure, maintain, and optimize network performance, availability, and scalability
- Implement and support network security solutions, including Palo Alto firewalls
- Participate in network upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management initiatives
- Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, and best practices
- Work cross‑functionally with security, systems, and application teams to support business requirements
USD $52.00/Hr.
MaxUSD $63.00/Hr.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with Extreme Networks (this is a must‑have)
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking fundamentals (routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.)
- Experience supporting custom or home‑grown network environments
- CCNA or Arista certification (active or previously held)
- Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (configuration, troubleshooting, or operations)
Preferred Qualifications
- Palo Alto certification (PCNSA, PCNSE, or similar)
- Experience integrating Extreme Networks with security platforms
- Exposure to multi‑vendor network environments
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Hands‑on, technical role requiring independent problem‑solving
