Program Overview: The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC), part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is responsible for training and supporting the training of federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officers-as well as international partners-who enforce laws, treaties, and regulations in the United States and abroad. Headquartered in Glynco, Georgia, with training delivery points in Artesia, New Mexico;
Charleston, South Carolina; and Cheltenham, Maryland, FLETC’s mission depends on secure, stable, and modern IT infrastructure. This program delivers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) Delivery and Operations Support Services (DOSS) that ensure reliable and efficient IT and media system performance across all FLETC locations. The Enterprise Support System (ESS) Administrator will play a critical role in maintaining the availability, performance, and security of FLETC’s ESS environment.

Position Summary: The ESS Administrator is responsible for the full lifecycle management of the FLETC Enterprise Support System (ESS) environment, including its servers, databases, storage, and security components. This position is ideal for an experienced IT systems professional with broad technical expertise across multiple infrastructure domains and a strong background in enterprise system administration, performance tuning, and security management. The ESS Administrator will work collaboratively with system owners, engineers, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure the ESS platform is secure, stable, and aligned with DHS and FLETC operational requirements.

• Design, install, configure, and maintain the FLETC ESS environment, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance.
• Administer and manage servers, databases, and storage systems supporting ESS operations.
• Implement and maintain security controls, access permissions, and data protection measures in accordance with DHS/FLETC standards.
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and capacity planning to ensure continued system health and scalability.
• Monitor ESS system performance and proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve operational issues.
• Conduct testing and validation of system updates, configurations, and integrations.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with IT operations, database, and security teams to support ESS integrations with other enterprise systems.
• Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and incident response activities as required.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis to maintain system reliability and support mission-critical operations.

Required:

• Demonstrated expertise in server, database, storage, and security technologies within an enterprise IT environment.
