About Hospice of the Golden Isles

Hospice of the Golden Isles (HGI) is a mission-driven organization dedicated to providing compassionate hospice and palliative care services to patients and families throughout our community. We are seeking an experienced, relationship-focused Healthcare & Community Relations Representative to help expand awareness of our services and support patients in accessing quality end-of-life care.

Position Summary

The Healthcare & Community Relations Representative serves as a key ambassador for Hospice of the Golden Isles. In this role, you will build and maintain relationships with physicians, hospitals, healthcare facilities, community organizations, and other referral sources to promote hospice and palliative care services.

The ideal candidate is a motivated business development professional with healthcare industry experience who enjoys educating others, developing strategic partnerships, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and families.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Achieve monthly admission and referral goals within an assigned territory.
  • Educate healthcare professionals, referral sources, and community partners on hospice and palliative care services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other referral partners.
  • Identify opportunities to grow referrals and expand community awareness of HGI services.
  • Create and manage territory plans, account rankings, and outreach strategies.
  • Maintain accurate activity, referral, and admission records within CRM and EMR systems.
  • Coordinate HGI participation in health fairs, educational events, community programs, and professional networking opportunities.
  • Develop community engagement initiatives targeting caregivers, seniors, veterans, and other key populations.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay current on hospice regulations, Medicare guidelines, reimbursement processes, and industry best practices.
  • Serve as a positive and professional representative of Hospice of the Golden Isles at all times.
  • Participate in occasional evening and weekend events as needed.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of proven sales success or comparable experience in hospice, healthcare, or post-acute care.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the service area.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and healthcare technology systems.
Preferred
  • Clinical healthcare background.
  • Experience in hospice, home health, palliative care, or healthcare business development.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate with physicians, healthcare administrators, senior leaders, patients, families, and community partners.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation abilities for both small and large audiences.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a team.
  • Strong listening skills and customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to organize meetings, educational programs, and special events.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent travel within assigned territory to healthcare facilities, hospitals, physician offices, and community organizations.
  • Ability to transport marketing materials and event supplies, including occasional lifting of heavier boxes.
  • Ability to attend community events, meetings, and presentations as needed.
