Position summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technicians to perform highway maintenance operations on I-95, based in the Brunswick, Georgia area. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a part of a team performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance.
  • MUST be flexible and able to work on-call, nights, and weekends when necessary.
  • Highway maintenance tasks include, but are not limited to:
  • Road patrol
  • Incident response
  • Lighting repair
  • Sign repair
  • Guardrail repair
  • Heavy equipment operations
  • Licensed herbicide applicators
Preferred Experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Roadway maintenance or construction experience
  • MOT Certifications

Clean driving record is essential. Must pass criminal background check

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
  • Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
  • Carry out simple arithmetic functions
  • Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
  • Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
  • Ability to use smart phone and applications
  • Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
  • Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate hand/power tools
Schedule

Schedule: Full time Monday-Thursday 6:30am-5:30pm. Must be flexible and available to work on-call when required. Must be able to work on-call for 1 week (every 3 weeks) after-hours on-call rotation.

Training

Training: On the job training provided. Two (2) weeks of paid training provided at time of hire and must be able to travel to our training center. Training schedule will be Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm at our Jacksonville, FL project. Company will provide hotel accommodations during training.

Salary

Salary: $17.20+ depending on knowledge/experience.
