Sign‑on bonuses: $10,000 for RN with 0‑2 years experience; $20,000 for RN with >2 years experience (eligible for full or part‑time RN positions; bonus prorated for part time; per diem ineligible).
Residents are hired into full or part‑time RN positions. Current Maine Health employees and former employees within six months are ineligible.
Our nurse resident program supports newly graduated registered nurses as they transition from student to confident, competent health professional. Program includes hands‑on clinical experience, education, mentorship, and development. Residents work alongside experienced preceptors gaining exposure to unit specialty while building strong clinical skills.
Program OverviewOur 11‑bed ICU is a multi‑specialty critical care unit. From heart attack and stroke to severe respiratory insufficiency and overwhelming infection, each patient has unique needs.
The Registered Nurse – New Graduate – Acute Care role works toward competency and independence in patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Requirements- Education:
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. - License/
Certifications:
Current applicable state license as Registered Professional Nurse required; current BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of start date. - Experience:
New graduate emphasis; N/A.
