THE JOB

Cobbossee is a 4-week, 2-session sleepaway sports summer camp in Maine. The dates for this position run from June 13th to August 10th, 2026.

Cobbossee is looking for talented and motivated, male and female, Coaching or Sports Administration Majors to intern in our staff this summer. The aim of this internship is to develop vast experience in the curriculum management, relationship development and engagement of campers aged 7-16 through a variety of sports and activities. These primarily align with assistant coaching positions in our teams at;
Football, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Lacrosse and Tennis where an experienced (and often decorated) college or high school coach will mentor and develop your coaching skills. If you have interest or experience in developing young athletes in any of these areas in your future, we have specialist roles available.

These head coaches will provide close mentorship and manage you closely, providing support and iterative evaluation to provide an internship that provides vast contact time with a range of ages of young athletes but also of your peers in our staff ranks. This will develop your communication, group management and leadership skills a ton.

Our motto is “Brotherhood through sports and adventure” and that starts with our outstanding staff. Our delightful campers (age 7-16) will look up to you as role models and friends. There will be powerful moments when you help them learn life lessons and inspire them to achieve things they didn’t think were possible. You will be delightfully challenged as well! Camp is an opportunity for everyone to push themselves, try new activities, learn new sports and build lasting friendships.

Alongside your Major-specific internship, you will grow professionally and personally through this experience.

If you are a specialist with coaching or playing experience, you’ll have the opportunity to play the sport you love on our amazing facilities all summer long. Summer camp provides meaningful experience to build your resume in a sports-centric field whilst providing a diverse and exciting work experience.

THE BENEFITS

Ever wanted to see New England? Well, in addition to your Salary and Bonus, Cobbossee will provide you with a Travel Stipend so you can get out to Maine without spending your own money. (That’s right, we cover your travel so that you can take this adventurous internship).

Room and board is also provided ALL SUMMER LONG, so you won’t have any outgoings whilst  female staff live separately to our boys and male staff in single gender accommodation. Inhouse benefits include an on-site laundry, staff room, weight room, arranged travel offsite and facilities use all summer. Further, and maybe most importantly for a summer work experience; days off and nights out are spent with other adventurous college-aged folks like you. INTERNSHIP INFORMATION

We intend to configure your employment this summer as an Internship. Each year Cobbossee provides around 30-40 staff with internships in a range of Sports Administration and Coaching positions.

We have many years of providing internships which will convert your work experience into internship credit if that’s what you want. This experience can be one of the best paid internships you can find. Many schools have different requirements so learning objectives and contact hour requirements will be discussed through the interview process to ensure we provide the best professional development for you through this work experience.
