Description Senior Diesel Technician Opportunity

Summary:

We are seeking two to three highly skilled, proven Senior Diesel Technicians (Journeyman / Tech
1). As a Senior Diesel Technician at W.W. Williams, you will be the tech the shop calls when nobody else can find it: owning the hardest diagnostic work in the building, getting repairs right the first time, and helping junior technicians grow. This is a full-time, day-shift, on-site position.

Must Have:

This is not an entry-level job. If you’re still building your skills, please apply to our Diesel Technician posting instead.

  • 7+ years as a journeyman / Tech 1 on Class 6–8 trucks.
  • ASE Medium/Heavy Truck certified (full T2–T8 series).
  • OEM certifications:
    Detroit (DTNA), Allison and/or Cummins.
  • Strong electronic diagnostics:
Diagnostic Link, Cummins INSITE, Allison DOC, laptop-based troubleshooting.
  • Engine, aftertreatment (DPF/SCR), electrical and transmission repair, from diagnosis to road test.
  • Your own professional tool set and a valid driver’s license (CDL-A a plus).
Why Senior Techs Move Here:
  • Paid like the senior tech you are: Top-of-scale pay from day one, plus overtime. No starting at the bottom and earning your way back up.
  • The work you’re good at: No-starts, intermittent electrical, aftertreatment and drivability. You’re the diagnostician, not the oil-change bay.
  • Factory training, on us: Detroit, Allison and Cummins OEM training, paid and scheduled in your first quarter.
  • Somewhere to go: A clear path to shop lead and our top technician tier, backed by a regional network of branches across the East.
What You’ll Do:
  • Own the toughest diagnostic jobs in the shop on fleet customers’ Detroit, Cummins and Allison-powered trucks.
  • Get it right the first time: diagnose, repair, road test and document it.
  • Be the go-to tech who helps junior techs get unstuck.
  • A phone call within 48 hours of applying.
  • A shop visit and interview within 5 days.
  • An offer within 48 hours of your interview.
Benefits and Rewards:
  • 8 Paid Holidays & 1 Paid Wellness Day
  • Paid Time Off
  • Employee Referral Bonus Program
  • 401k with a Company Match
  • Company Paid Training
