Role Description MCE is hiring a creative, self-motivated Instructional Designer to play a central role in the quality of our learning experience. This position is key in supporting how MCE shapes, designs and delivers programmes across EMEA.
You'll work across business development, operations, marketing, and digital to ensure MCE's instructional design process is consistently applied and continuously improving.
What you'll do
Design learning that works
Apply instructional design models (including MCE's 5
Di process) to create engaging, effective learning experiences — with at least 70% active-learning content
Develop curriculums, training materials, and multimedia content for both digital and face-to-face delivery
Design assessments that measure real learning outcomes, not just completion of programmes
Use data and feedback to continuously refine and improve programmes
Understand the need before you build
Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and define training requirements
Analyse target audience characteristics and tailor content to how people actually learn
Manage the process
Own the instructional design process end-to-end, delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget
Coordinate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams across multiple projects simultaneously
Help subject matter experts shift from content-led to behaviour-led training — a critical part of this role
Champion good design
Promote and explain MCE's instructional approach to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
Stay current with research in neuroscience and learning impact, and bring relevant insights into practice
What you bring
Instructional Design & Content Development
Proven ability to apply instructional design models — particularly 5
Di — to create learning experiences that drive real behaviour change
Skilled at designing curriculum and materials that work across different learning styles and delivery formats (digital, face-to-face, blended)
Strong writing and editing skills for a variety of content formats; experienced in sourcing digital tools to enhance the learner journey
Experienced in designing assessments that measure outcomes meaningfully, and in using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement
Needs Analysis
Proficient in conducting thorough needs assessments to diagnose learning gaps and define training requirements
Able to analyse target audience characteristics and translate those insights into tailored content and design decisions
Project Management
Strong xqknzec track record of delivering learning solutions on time, within scope, and on budget
Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating across subject matter experts and cross-functional teams
Problem-solving & Innovation
Analytical and creative in equal measure — able to diagnose design challenges and develop solutions that are both practical and inventive
Keeps pace with emerging trends and technologies in instructional design, and applies relevant innovations with purpose rather than novelty
Interpersonal Skills, Collaboration & Communication
Builds trusted relationships with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and team members across functions and cultures
Communicates complex concepts clearly and compellingly — in writing, in workshops, and in front of senior stakeholders
Confident advocating for good instructional design practice, including challenging content-led thinking when behaviour-led approaches would deliver better results
What we offer
A full-time permanent contract at a leading European training provider — working on programmes that develop leaders across EMEA.
