Software Engineer - application maintenance & systems integration
About the team
Our Client is the software engineering team behind mission-critical, high-availability systems used by international customers across Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East. Our team of developers works closely with project managers, support engineers and on-site technicians to keep complex, 24/7 operations running smoothly. We're currently investing heavily in software stabilization, CI/CD automation and modernized test environments — a great time to join.
The role
We're looking for a Software Engineer for a hands-on role spanning software maintenance, customer support, systems integration and configuration across a diverse portfolio of international sites. You'll take ownership of maintaining our installed base — troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis and coordinating with stakeholders — while also driving integration projects that connect our software with third-party industrial systems.
What you'll do
Serve as a key maintenance engineer for business-critical applications, diagnosing and resolving production incidents (performance, data and workflow issues)
Perform root cause analysis on complex, multi-system issues and implement lasting fixes
Lead technical integration projects, building and maintaining connectors between our software and third-party industrial equipment
Configure high-availability and redundancy setups; provide 2nd/3rd-line support across our application suite
Work with industrial communication protocols (e.g. OPC UA) and message brokers to enable real-time data processing
Produce technical documentation, contribute to the internal knowledge base and support continuous-improvement initiatives
What you bring
3+ years in software engineering, systems integration or technical support — ideally in an industrial, logistics or mission-critical 24/7 environment
Strong debugging and root cause analysis across application, database, network and protocol layers
Excellent written & verbal communication; comfortable with international customers and vendors
Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Automation, or equivalent experience
Nice to have:
Experience in industrial, logistics or transportation technology
Familiarity with industrial control systems, SCADA or PLC integration
ITIL or similar service-management experience
Knowledge of French (spoken & written) is a must
Dev Ops/CI-CD and infrastructure-as-code familiarity
Tech you'll work with:
Languages & Frameworks: C# (.NET), Python, Power Shell / Bash
Data: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, ETL processes, real-time & time-series data
Infrastructure: Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/CentOS), VMware/Hyper-V, VPN/RDP/SSH
Dev Ops & Tooling: GIT (Git Lab/Git Hub), CI/CD, Docker, Jira, Confluence
Protocols & Messaging: OPC UA, MQTT/AMQP, TCP/IP, XML/JSON-based integration
Security & Networking: TLS/SSL, Firewalls, network segmentation, secure remote access
You are
A problem-solver who thrives under pressure, autonomous and self-organized, detail-oriented, a strong communicator across cultures and time zones, and adaptable — comfortable switching between projects and customer environments throughout the day.
How TO APPLY
Send your CV and a short cover letter.
Process: HR screening call (30 min) ⇒ technical interview incl. case study (60-90 min) ⇒ final interview with the department head (30 min) ⇒ offer.
