Senior full stack JavaScript Engineer (Node.js / React) - banking sector

Context
Our client is a fast-growing digital bank undergoing a major transformation of its IT landscape. The organization is modernizing its legacy systems into a Micro Services architecture hosted on AWS, with a strong focus on Domain-Driven Design (DDD).

Your role
As a Senior Full Stack JavaScript Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering high-quality digital banking solutions.

Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications within a Micro Services ecosystem
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories
Develop high-quality frontend and backend solutions using modern JavaScript technologies
Build and maintain secure and performant APIs (REST and/or gRPC)
Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other developers
Contribute to Agile ceremonies (daily stand-up, sprint planning, retrospectives)
Ensure code quality through testing (unit, integration, E2E)
Participate in CI/CD processes and deployments
Contribute to architectural discussions and technical improvements
Technical skills
Frontend:
Strong experience with:
React.
JS (with styled-components)
React Native
Good understanding of:
Micro-frontend architecture
Backend:
Strong expertise in:
Node.js with Type Script
Experience with :
API design (REST and/or gRPC)
OpenAPI / Swagger
Knowledge of ORM tools (TypeORM or modern alternatives) is a plus
Dev Ops & Cloud:
Experience with :
CI/CD pipelines (Git Lab preferred)
Familiarity with:
AWS services (S3, Dynamo
DB, RDS, EKS, etc.)
Methodology:
Proven experience working in:
Agile / Scrum environments
Strong ability to:
Translate business needs into clear user stories
Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
Required qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in full stack JavaScript development
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Fluent in English
Nice-to-have:
Knowledge of banking or financial services
Proficiency in Dutch or French
Experience with :
Terra Form / Infrastructure as Code
C# .NET
GraphQL
Exposure to other backend technologies (e.g., PHP)
Soft skills:
Team player with strong communication skills
Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
