Heavy Equipment Operator

Under the general supervision of the Team Supervisor with direction from the Crew Leader, the Heavy Equipment Operator operates a variety of heavy and light construction equipment in the maintenance, repair, and construction of City streets, roadways and alleys, and pavement. Participates in general maintenance and labor activities as necessary for timely completion of projects and work orders.

• The heavy equipment operator is responsible for operating a variety of equipment used in construction, grading, and maintenance.
• Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in grading and site construction.
• Operate the loader to move materials around the construction site.
• Perform routine maintenance on the loader to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
• Communicate with other members of the construction team to ensure efficient and effective work.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as equipment operator.
• Experience in a construction environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
• Valid driver's license.
