About the Role

We're a nationwide subcontractor company looking for a detail-driven Controller to join our team in Bryan, TX. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, have a background in construction accounting, and love diving into the details of project finance — we want to meet you.

You'll work directly with our project teams onsite, corporate accounting in Chicago, and company leadership to manage financial operations for $10–15M projects. This is a hands-on role with real impact, perfect for someone ready to take ownership and grow with a national team.

What You'll Do

• Lead financial operations for multiple projects: cost control, reporting, and compliance
• Review client contracts to ensure billing accuracy and payment terms
• Manage AP/AR, ensuring lien waivers, insurance, and documentation are in place
• Perform forensic accounting and cost diagnostics
• Own the month-end close and accrual processes
• Maintain asset and rental records for insurance and financial reporting
• Support audits and financial closeouts
• Collaborate with corporate controllers in Chicago (occasional travel required)
• Communicate project cash positions and flag financial risks

What You Bring

• 3+ years in leadership accounting role in construction
• Deep understanding of GAAP and contract accounting
• Experience with Quick Books and strong Excel skills
• Forensic diagnostics and cost analysis know-how
• High attention to detail in high-volume environments
• Strong communicator and collaborator
