• Works under the supervision of a therapist to provide therapeutic assistance to patients.
• Assists the therapist in patient care and participates in providing recreational activities for patients.
• Transfers, transports, and assists patients in activities of daily living as directed by the therapist.
• Prepares, cleans, and maintains treatment areas and equipment, and performs routine housekeeping duties within the department.
• Records therapy treatments and time with patients on the appropriate forms and manages medical records.
• Communicates with patients to encourage, educate, and assist them in reaching their maximum functional level while ensuring confidentiality of all patient information.
• Demonstrates proper body mechanics and utilizes universal precautions when appropriate to maintain safety.
• Exhibits responsible, reliable, and honest work ethics, demonstrates flexibility in job tasks, and adheres to all facility and department policies and procedures.
• Attends departmental and hospital in‑services for professional growth.

• High School Graduate (General Studies) upon hire or High School GED upon hire.
• Basic Life Support – CPR – American Heart Association certification within 14 days of hire.
