Job Overview

Hamilton Pre‑Release Unit in Bryan, Texas, we provide a safe and secure working environment for staff while helping at‑risk populations receive the treatment necessary for success. This full‑time role (Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm) pays $52,160 annually.

Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise the addiction severity index tester and other counselors.
  • Perform highly complex substance abuse counseling work within DWI programs and coordinate with other departments.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement substance abuse counseling activities.
  • Maintain records and submit reports, including Individual Progress Summaries.
  • Supervise and instruct staff and promote positive social skills through behavior modeling.
  • Maintain accountability, adhere to safety practices, and ensure compliance with MTC and TDCJ directives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Behavioral Science, or related field (accredited institution).
  • Four (4) years full‑time wage‑earning experience in substance abuse treatment.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (TDSHS), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) in Texas.
  • CPR certification; valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable record.
  • Experience supervising employees and working in therapeutic community environments preferred.
