Voices for Children, Inc. CASA of Brazos Valley invites volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). A CASA is appointed by a judge to voice the best interests of a child in the foster care system.
OverviewFounded in 2000, Voices for Children is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Brazos County, serving Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, and Madison counties. We have advocated for over 400 abused or neglected children, ensuring they find safe, permanent homes.
Responsibilities- Gather information about the child’s background and create a comprehensive case file.
- Locate and evaluate potential relative caregivers.
- Advocate for the child’s educational, psychological, and medical needs.
- Make recommendations to the court for a safe and permanent home.
- Provide stability for the child during court proceedings.
CASAs come from diverse backgrounds (students, full‑time employees, retirees, etc.) and share a passion for strengthening families and keeping children safe. The role requires commitment, empathy, and the ability to advocate in court settings.
