** This position is PRN Monday through Friday, no weekends.
** Other Requirements and Factors:
** This position is funded from grant startup funding and/or clinic revenue funding which is renewed under the provisions of the grantor. The current grant and/or startup funding is through 8/31/2025. This position, therefore, is contingent upon continuation of funding of these grants and/or clinic revenue and satisfactory job performance.

Education and Experience:

*** Master of Science degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* One year directly related experience serving as a family nurse practitioner.  
** Required Licenses and

Certifications:

*** Requires an active license as a Registered Nurse and as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner, in the state of Texas with prescriptive authority and national board certification as a family nurse practitioner.
** Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*** Experience with electronic health record  
*
* Preferred Qualifications:

*** At least five years of clinical nursing experience is required.
* American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate.
* Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and electronic health records, some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
* Experience in health professions education is preferred.
** Responsibilities:**
* ** FNP Practice and Clinical Preceptor**:
Performs history, psychosocial, and physical examinations, diagnosis of acute, chronic, and urgent/episodic primary care conditions, formulates therapeutic plans of care, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic imaging, electrocardiogram exams, medication management and  provides education to patients and their families. Coordinates the care of patients to provide safe, effective, efficient, and timely patient-centered care. Liaises between clinical staff and consult services.

Consults with physicians and other members of the healthcare team regarding the care of patients as appropriate. Order and evaluate effectiveness of therapeutic modalities such as medications, treatments, diagnostic tests, etc. Performs primary care procedures. Provide primary health care maintenance of the population served, including immunizations and recommended health screenings.
