The Magnet Program Manager is accountable for coordinating activities required to attain and maintain ANCC Magnet recognition. The role designs the Magnet recognition program strategy and collaborates with nursing, care providers, leaders, and ancillary leadership to achieve Magnet designation goals. The Manager promotes excellence in nursing practice and serves as a catalyst for change, ensuring St. Joseph’s Health remains a national leader in nursing practice.
Responsibilities- Design the Magnet program strategy in partnership with nursing, physicians, operations, and ancillary leadership.
- Coordinate activities to achieve and maintain ANCC Magnet recognition.
- Research and promote excellence in nursing practice and evidence‑based care.
- Serve as a change agent and support nursing staff professional practice.
- Provide leadership to the nursing department for interpretation, compliance, and implementation of ANCC Magnet Program standards.
- Lead the Magnet readiness gap analysis and coordinate action plans to address improvement areas.
- Ensure quality initiatives align strategically with Magnet standards and benchmark outcomes.
- Communicate the Magnet standards and expectations to leaders and staff across the nursing division.
- Develop and maintain systems for disseminating information to nursing and other departments.
- Coordinate the development, submission, and management of Magnet application documents and key nursing‑sensitive outcome indicators.
- Liaise with the ANCC Magnet office, Magnet list serv, and conference organizations.
- Provide Magnet‑related information sessions, training, and support for nursing and staff leadership.
- Serve as editor for the nursing newsletter and site administrator for the Magnet website.
- Coordinate the annual report for nursing and communications regarding the Professional Nursing Shared Governance (PNSG) Councils.
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of the annual evaluation process, including tools and peer review.
- Assume responsibility for nursing shared governance, advocate for participation, review PNSG by‑law, and guide units in council development.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN). Master’s degree preferred.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in nursing, with experience in an ANCC Magnet program highly preferred.
- Preferred experience facilitating a successful ANCC Magnet application and documentation submission.
- Registered Nurse: TX (RN:
TX) licensure required.

Pay Range$37.22 - $55.37 /hour
