Key Responsibilities- Operating a motor grader:
Using precise controls to move the blade, shape the ground, and create the desired final surface. Must be able to use GPS and must be able to FINISH. - Grading and leveling:
Performing both rough and finish grading to meet project specifications, which can include cutting ditches, building up road crowns, and shaping slopes. - Site work:
Moving materials like dirt and rocks to prepare and maintain the work area. - Equipment maintenance:
Performing routine inspections, greasing, and adjusting the equipment. - Safety:
Adhering to all company safety protocols and using proper worksite signals.
Skills and Qualifications
- Heavy equipment experience:
Proficiency in operating a motor grader is essential. - Grading knowledge: A strong understanding of grading techniques and the ability to read blueprints, grade stakes, and use GPS systems is a must.
- Diligence:
The ability to achieve tight finish grade accuracy is crucial. - Physical and communication skills:
The ability to work independently or as part of a team and effective communication skills are important for success.
