GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Perform complex (journey-level) building maintenance and construction work. Serve as the primary caretaker of a state facility(ies). Work involves facilities maintenance and construction work, as well as grounds maintenance as dictated by seasonal needs, and custodial work. Assist in maintaining and repairing buildings, utility systems, and stationary equipment; operate motorized equipment; maintain custodial and other equipment. Work is performed under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Education – Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent preferred.
Experience – Minimum of one (1) year experience in building trades work on commercial or residential projects and attainment of competent skills in at least one (1) skills area (frame, finishing, carpentry, plumbing, sanitation, painting, grounds, etc.)

Note:
Verifiable technical school training of the type described may be substituted for work experience at the rate of six (6) months’ training for one-year experience.
Licensure and/or Certification – Valid driver license from state of residence. May be required to obtain a pesticide applicator license and forklift operator certification.
