The ABA Student Analyst will provide an unique opportunity for a graduate student pursuing certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to gain hands-on experience in both direct service delivery as an RBT and in the fieldwork required for BCBA certification. The individual will work directly with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities while simultaneously engaging in required fieldwork hours under the supervision of a licensed BCBA.
This dual role offers valuable experience in both practical behavior intervention and the application of ABA principles to gain skills needed for an entry-level BCBA.
- Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs), preference assessments, and other relevant assessments under the guidance of a BCBA.
- Participate in the development and modification of behavior intervention plans (BIPs), treatment goals, and individualized service plans, ensuring they align with client needs and evidence-based practices under the supervision of the BCBA.
- Collect, record, and analyze data related to client behaviors, treatment progress, and session outcomes. Prepare data reports and assist in modifying treatment plans based on data analysis.
- Attend regular clinical supervision meetings with a BCBA or clinical supervisor to review client progress, receive feedback, and develop professional competencies required for BCBA certification.
- Assist in case documentation by maintaining detailed and accurate client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other documentation in accordance with company policies and ethical guidelines.
- Provide one-on-one direct behavioral intervention to clients in home, clinic, and/or community settings. Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and training programs as designed by the BCBA.
- Implement skill-building programs designed to teach clients new skills, including communication, social, academic, and daily living skills according to the Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) for skill acquisition.
- Implement behavior reduction strategies, including reinforcement, prompting, and other interventions to reduce challenging behaviors according to the Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP).
- Accurately collect data on client behaviors, progress, and skill acquisition during therapy sessions. Ensure data is taken in real-time and is consistent with the goals outlined in treatment plans.
- Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and other team members to ensure consistency and generalization of skills across settings. Provide guidance to families regarding behavior management strategies and client progress.
- Adhere to the ethical guidelines outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and maintain professionalism in all interactions with clients, families, and team members.
- Represent the program to parents, visitors, and the public in a positive way.
- Ensure confidentiality of children and employee information. Respond to internal and external requests for information according to clinic policy.
