Freedom Ag & Energy is a farmer-owned cooperative with multiple locations in Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland, each with a rich tradition of serving the agriculture and energy needs of their communities. In addition to our traditional ag business, we offer products and services for home & garden, pet supplies, animal health, outdoor recreation, heating, and cooling. Our growing energy department serves both business and residential customers.

Provides customers with friendly and efficient customer service while processing check-out, exchange and return transactions. Utilizes point of sale equipment which includes cash registers, handheld scanners, and credit/debit card terminals, effectively and ensures accuracy of transactions. Proactively provides information to customers on products and store events. Process sale items, coupons, and other discounts as necessary and according to terms. Answer incoming telephone calls from customers to provide information regarding order status, product availability, current sales, promotions, and store events.

Assess the need for loading assistance, recognize the formation of lines, resolve pricing and merchandise inquiries, utilize product knowledge to make genuinely helpful recommendations and identify selling opportunities. Escalate complex issues to store leadership for assistance. Monitors and maintains front end according to facility procedures to ensure a welcoming and secure environment.
Schedule requirements will vary based on location. Extended hours and/or alternate work schedules may be required.

Education:

Requires a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Prefer additional coursework in agriculture, plant science, animal science, or a related field.

Experience:

Prefer 6 months of experience in a retail environment providing excellent customer service and operating point of sale equipment. Prefer experience in agribusiness or a related field. Previous Freedom Ag & Energy work experience a plus.
