Section Engineer - Freelance

About The Role

At EKFB we’re shaping infrastructure for a better tomorrow. All four of our partners bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including high‑speed rail projects.

We’re recruiting for a Section Engineer on a freelance basis to join our team based in the Buckingham area.

As a Section Engineer, you will report to our Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to close out. You will assist with temporary works design schemes and liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget.

You will monitor and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring they complete work to contractual requirements, and ensure the team has all necessary information and resources. You will assist with programme production, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.

• HNC/Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering or equivalent and working towards ICE membership
• Knowledge and practical application of site engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills
• Experience in Structures and/or Highways is essential
• Competencies:
  
  SMSTS or SSSTS; CSCS card (White, White/Yellow, Red‑Experienced, Black‑Manager or Gold‑Supervisor)
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
