Consultant will have to work at a hospital that stands as one of the most extensive acute teaching trusts in England. Its mission encompasses delivering acute and specialized healthcare to approximately 2.5 million residents. Moreover, trust extends its specialized healthcare expertise to an additional 3-4 million individuals hailing from the broader regional area.

Person Specification Professional Registration Essential
  • Full GMC registration
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register
  • Expected CCT completion within 6 months of the interview date
  • Professional Qualifications/Development Essential
  • MRCP qualification
  • Desirable
  • Higher professional degree such as MD or PhD
  • Clinical Skills/Experience Essential
  • Proficiency in making independent and sound clinical decisions
  • Specialized experience and a keen interest in colorectal cancer
  • Specialized experience and a strong interest in breast cancer or UGI
  • Proficiency in planning radiotherapy
  • Effective and appropriate communication skills with patients, their families, and fellow health professionals
  • Desirable
  • Prior experience working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Training in communication skills specific to healthcare
  • Training in patient safety and/or human factors
  • Management Skills Essential
  • Capable of formulating, presenting, and implementing coherent ideas for service development and delivery
